Welcome

Since that's the future we actually got, I can't see that cyberpunk could possibly be any less relevant than it is now.

NaNoWriMo?

Yeah, I thought it was the Japanese cell phone format or something, but no! It’s National Novel Writing Month! Aww geez, I’m like four days late, which means I’ve got to pump out about 2,000 words per day. The gist is to write a 175-page, 50,000 word novel in November! C’mon you can do it too! Riiiiiight. Closer to 3,000 words a day to make up for Thanksgiving break, vacation travel and what not. Ug!

Wow I know a couple of people who are doing this already. Interestingly it seems to be a mother/daughter and mother/son combos. Ling any chance your daughter is up for the task?

Not a chance, homework is taxing her enough as is, but I do encourage her to keep up in her journal. Meanwhile, I’m falling further and further behind. But I did write about 800 words yesterday! Basic strategy I used in one of my Creative Writing classes where I had to turn in 50 pages of fiction once — I wrote a story about Rogue. Just wrote and wrote and wrote about crawling through a dungeon! So I’m kinda doing the same thing for NaNoWriMo!

This would be a great opportunity to write that shadowrun story :P

They do have a kids version that is a little less extreme for younger ones, if DD wants to do it with you. Or you can work as a group writing together.
